

ULGH-YP Elections Process
The elections process for ULGHYP are as stated in Article 6 of ULGHYP Bylaws:
Article 6.01 Election Process
Each executive appointee shall be elected by other ULGH-YP members and shall take office at the beginning of the fiscal year, defined as July 1st unless otherwise specified, at the time of the election.
Prior to Election Day, candidates shall have submitted a résumé and a letter of interest to include a personal statement of their anticipated contributions to the ULGH-YP and indicate to what capacity they desire to serve. A deadline will be given prior to Election Day and all submissions must be received no later than 11:59pm of said date by the Policy and Procedures Committee Chairperson.
An alphabetical list of each candidate, their office of interest, résumé, and letter of interest will be provided to the General Body for review no more than five (5) business days after the above deadline. A special meeting will be held outside of the General Body meeting for the elections. An equal share of allotted time will be provided to each candidate to give a statement before the General Body regarding their qualifications for office on Election Day.
Article 6.02 Voting
Voting shall be by ballot or absentee ballot. Each ballot shall contain the names of all eligible candidates in alphabetical order for all open offices. Authorized members, as defined in Article 2.04*, are eligible to cast a ballot or absentee ballot at least five (5) business days prior to Election Day.
The Policy and Procedures Committee shall have the responsibility of collecting and counting all voting ballots as well as announcing new Executive Committee appointees.
Executive appointees shall be elected by the plurality of votes. In the event of a tie vote, only those candidates shall participate in a run-off election until one candidate receives a plurality of votes. Candidates will be provided an equal share of an abbreviated allotment of time to give a statement regarding their qualifications for office.
Article 6.03 Appointments
The President may be called upon to appoint Executive Committee members if the appointment is on Election Day or due to the lack of candidates interested in an executive capacity and shall be consider considered a term. If the appointment is to fill an un-expired term, that appointment shall not be considered a term. Any Executive Committee member that is appointed to fill an un-expired term is considered an authentic executive appointee and should be referred to as such.
*Article 2.04 Authorized Voting Members. An authorized member, for at least five (5) business days prior to any ULGH-YP meeting, shall be eligible to vote in all General Body meetings and special meetings, as well as, hold elective offices in ULGH-YP. Voting may take place as voice, rising, roll call or ballot (electronic or paper).
